Still Getting Help on CB Radio
With the rise of cellular communications, the popularity of Citizens Band Radio has faded among motorists. For many years, CB was the only practical two-way radio system available to individuals. Even though most users have moved on, CB is still popular among truckers.
CB Channel 9 is designated the EMERGENCY CHANNEL by the Federal Communications Commission. Assistance can also be summoned on Channel 19, the national truckers channel.
Cellular communications are much more reliable than CB. However, CB can provide a potential lifeline if cellular communications aren't available.
To summon help, broadcast your CLIP :
The ALERT CB Radio Operators program encourages the voluntary monitoring of CB Channel 9 and/or CB Channel 19 by base and mobile stations.

- Location - Be exact. Included State/Province.
- Injuries - Number, Type, Trapped?
- Problem - Give details and help required.
